NiB have been releasing updates to the portal fortnightly since September this year, so there is nothing to beta test I am afraid. However, please find below information regarding the key updates that have been released so far:
There is now a provider homepage which will list key updates regarding the portal as well as other communications from nib. This can be accessed either from nib.co.nz and clicking on the “For providers” link at the very top of the page, or by visiting nibfirstchoice.co.nz/providers
We have updated the summary page so you can now track the progress of a pre-approval/claim that you have submitted via the portal using the status column
Once a pre-approval have been approved, you can click on “Make claim” from the summary page and be taken straight to the claim form
You can now submit claims without a pre-approval number. When you select “Claim” from the green banner, you can click on the green link “I don’t have a pre-approval number” and enter either the policy number and DOB, or the name and DOB
We have removed “Start date of symptoms” from the surgical questions
We have removed a lot of mandatory documents and now indicate whether a document is required or optional
You can now save procedures as a favourite allowing you to create a list of diagnostic and surgical procedures to select from rather than having to always search for the procedure
As well as these improvements we have made an operational improvement so pre-approvals submitted via the portal now have a turnaround time of 24 hours (unless further information is required then this may take longer).
By the end of the year we hope to also have simplified the procedure list to make it even easier to use and have all pre-approval letters and remittance advices uploaded to the summary page so that you can download these and no longer have to search through emails.
Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any further questions regarding this.
