Ryan Salter is an anaesthetist and intensive care specialist based in Wellington. After completing his specialist training in Australasia, he went on to complete fellowship training time in paediatric cardiac intensive care at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, and cardiac anaesthesia at Royal Papworth Hospital in Cambridge, England. Whilst at the Royal Papworth, Ryan took a job as a consultant in anaesthesia and intensive care during the British COVID pandemic experience. He is currently working as a cardiac anaesthetist at Wellington Hospital and has interests in extracorporeal life support, perioperative medicine and shared decision-making.
